The people of Bloomsburg, Pa., were understandably upset when ZZ Top dropped out of the Bloomsburg Fair last week following Dusty Hill's hip injury. But they got a nice surprise when classic rock stalwarts Lynyrd Skynyrd stepped in to replace ZZ.

Lead singer Johnny Van Zant broke the news this weekend on Facebook:

"We are sorry to hear that our long time friends ZZ Top have had to cancel their remaining tour dates for the year. We are excited to step in and help out," Van Zant wrote. "We will be performing at the Bloomsburg Fair (on Sept. 25) in Bloomsburg."

NewsItem reports that fans with ZZ tickets had until Monday to exchange them for Skynyrd tickets. Beginning today (Tuesday), fans could receive full refunds and tickets went on sale to the general public.

"We would like to be able to open the Lynyrd Skynyrd tickets up for sale, but do want to take care of our present ZZ Top customers first, if at all possible," said a statement on the fair's website. "Our office staff tried calling the majority of our Internet customers that we had phone numbers for, but found we were leaving many messages as people were at work."

You likely need a refresher when it comes to the Skynyrd lineup. Van Sant is the younger brother of Ronnie Van Zant, the original lead singer who died in a plane crash with two other members in 1977.

Original member Gary Rossington is still hanging around for the group's 40-year anniversary, and other current members include Rickey Medlocke, Michael Cartellone, Mark Matejka, Peter Keys and Johnny Colt.
