The singer, who joined the reality TV singing competition on its fifth season, passed away last week. She was 47 years old.

As of this writing, police have yet to reveal the official cause of death of the singer, but they assured the public that there was no foul play or crime surrounding her death.

"The Franklin Police Department is continuing to investigate the death of a woman found inside a Beamon Dr. residence last Thursday evening. Over the weekend, a medical examiner identified the deceased individual as Mandisa Hundley, 47," they wrote on X.

They concluded their post by sending their condolences to the singer's friends, family, and fans.

'American Idol' to Pay Tribute to Mandisa

After the news about Mandisa's death made headlines, American Idol announced that they would be having a tribute show for the singer.

In a statement, the show acknowledged the musician for being an "adored icon" from the show and in the music industry, adding that she was one of the successful singers from the program, having platinum-selling projects and having won many Grammys. (via Deadline)

During Sunday's episode, Ryan Seacrest announced that the show wanted to take a moment to honor Mandisa, saying she was an inspiration to many people, and they are set to celebrate her life next week through a musical tribute.

"Our hearts go out to her family and all of those, like us, who called her a friend," the host added.

The tribute is set to air on April 29.

'American Idol' Alum Mandisa Dead at 47

Mandisa passed away at her home in Nashville.

Following her death, many celebrities and fellow alums paid tribute to her on social media, including Jennifer Hudson, who shared a photo of the singer.

"Broke my heart when I heard the news! She was truly a woman of faith. A bright light that made such a powerful imprint on this world. Rest in heaven, Mandisa!" Hudson wrote.
