Taylor Swift and her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn have happily moved on after their breakup in 2023.
After six years of dating, Swift and Alwyn called it quits and moved on with their lives. But like what she did in her past albums, the "Midnight Rain" singer has referenced the actor in The Tortured Poets Department.
Joe Alwyn Has Moved On After Taylor Swift Split
A source exclusive spoke with People to confirm that Alwyn has moved on and "is doing well" more than a year after he and Swift broke up. The insider added that the 33-year-old actor started focusing on his work and, apparently, his current love life.
"He's dating and happy. He's a great guy and not into drama in any way," said the source, adding that Alwyn "certainly doesn't talk poorly about her. He was in love with her, and it just didn't work out."
As The Last Letter from Your Lover star received the spotlight after the album release, the source revealed Alwyn cannot stand the attention that comes with his acting job and does not feel comfortable being in the spotlight.
Swift and Alwyn parted ways due to "differences in their personalities." They started dating in 2017, a few months after meeting at the 2016 Met Gala. In the years thereafter, they kept a relatively private relationship until they broke up without any public dramas.
The Mary Queen of Scots star has since been linked to his The Brutalist costar, Emma Laird. The buzz became more prominent after the actress posted a carousel of photos, which included an image of Alwyn on an electric scooter.

How Taylor Swift Included Joe Alwyn in Her Album
In Swift's TTPD, Swifties noticed the references she made for Alwyn in the tracks "So Long, London," "How Did It End," "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart," "Ioml," "Florida!!!" and "Fresh Out the Slammer."
A separate source told Entertainment Tonight that the exes have not been in touch.
"Joe wants to keep his personal life private. He is more introverted and the interest in his personal life is a bit overwhelming to him. He is focused on acting and his career," said the insider.
