Cher has been hailed as a legendary artist for decades. Although having this status equates to being rich for some artists, this is not the case for the singer. The musician recently revealed one point in her career when she lost all the money she made, but something helped her recover.

The Different Kind of Love Song hitmaker sat down in an interview with Jennifer Hudson on her talk show, where she recalled a life-changing moment in her career.

"I lost all the money I had worked for at some point," she said.

The musician noted that she had to work up again, especially since she needed to provide for her family, adding, "So I had to start at ground zero, and I didn't know what I was gonna actually do to make a living for my kids."

Cher's Las Vegas Residency Helped Her Recover From Financial Struggles

Later, the musician recalled going to Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, which she described at the time as "the elephant's graveyard" because people don't often go there.

Cher took her shot and launched her residency at the Circus Maximus Showroom titled A Celebration at Caesars Palace.

At the time, her setlist included her fan-favorite songs like "Take It to the Limit," "Out Here on My Own," "Lookin for Love," and many more.

Cher Net Worth 2024

Since then, Cher continued having a successful career as her net worth is estimated to be around $360 million as of this writing.

The singer earned most of her money from her music career, but she also received massive payments from her roles as an actress.

Parade reported that the musician likely made at least $1 million for her role in the movie Burlesque with Christina Aguilera and another million for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, where she only appeared for seven minutes.

Cher Faced More Struggles Aside From Financial Problems

In the interview, Cher also noted that being a musician comes with negativity, as she faced many problems retaining her career.

"There was one writer who kept saying every year, 'This is her last year. This is finally her last year. She is so over.' And I said, 'You know what buddy, I'll be here when you're gone.' And I think I am," she said.

Regardless, the Real Love hitmaker tried to be cool with everybody.
