After being accused of rape and physical abuse, rapper 50 Cent is hitting back at his ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy, with a defamation lawsuit.

This legal action was initiated several weeks after Joy publicly accused 50 Cent of physically abusing her and committing rape during their relationship, which spanned from 2011 to 2013.

Us Weekly obtained legal documents showing how 50 Cent, formally known as Curtis James Jackson III, claims that Joy has "falsely and publicly" accused him of rape and physical abuse after she was named in Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones' lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs.

According to the documents, Joy made a "purposeful attempt to, on information and belief, destroy his personal and business reputation, harm Jackson's commercial and business interests, negatively affect his custody case, and prevent him from seeing his minor son."

50 Cent also maintained that he had been subjected to "extensive public ridicule, hatred, and contempt" after Joy made salacious allegations on Instagram about him.

The Grammy-winning rapper further asserts his intention to "vindicate his rights and protect his reputation" against what he perceives as a "calculated attack" from his ex-girlfriend.

He is pursuing "punitive and exemplary damages" to address the "severe harm" inflicted by Joy's "false and defamatory" claims against him.

In March 2024, Joy slammed 50 Cent in a scathing post, alleging him of raping her and being physically abusive toward her.

"Everything is a joke to you until our safety is compromised, which is happening now. You are wreaking real havoc, frenzy and chaos onto people's lives... Let's put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me. You are no longer my oppressor and my God will handle you from this point on," Joy wrote after being named in Lil Rod's lawsuit against Diddy.

In another post, Joy denied being involved in Diddy's scandal, pointing out that calling her a "sex worker is 100% false and character assassination."

50 Cent has also denied Joy's allegations toward him, calling it "false and baseless." He further claimed that Joy's accusations came as a knee-jerk reaction to his decision to seek sole custody of their 11-year-old son, Sire Jackson.
