It's been 20 years since the premiere of beloved sitcom Friends, and to celebrate, a coffee shop modeled after Central Perk, one of the show's signature settings, has been opened in Manhattan. The shop features plenty of Friends memorabilia, and last night (Sept. 16), there was even a special musical performance by the Rembrandts, who sang the show's maddeningly infectious theme song, "I'll Be There For You."

The performance was captured on video by Buzzfeed, which you can check out by clicking here. "I'll Be There For You" wasn't the only song performed last night, however. Actor James Michael Tyler, who played Central Perk manager Gunther on Friends, sang an impromptu rendition of another of the show's famous songs, "Smelly Cat," which was captured in a brief Instagram video.

Here's the original version, as sung by Lisa Kudrow on Friends:

Tyler and the Rembrandts closed out their performance with a second version of "I'll Be There For You," because it's not as if everyone heard the song enough times during the '90s. If you want to check out Central Perk, you'd better do it soon, because it's only in New York until Oct. 18.

The Rembrandts formed in Los Angeles in 1989 and broke up in 1997, though they reunited in 2000 and have been active ever since. Their last studio album was 2005's Choice Picks, which was a re-recording of 14 of the band's songs. Their last album of new material was 2001's Lost Together.
