Whoopi Goldberg recently dropped by Kelly Clarkson's talk show, where they discussed using prescription medications to help with weight loss. Unfortunately, the singer was met with negative comments from online users. More recently, the EGOT winner defended the "Since U Been Gone" hitmaker after the issue.

In the latest episode of The View, which aired on Wednesday, the award-winning actress defended the American Idol winner. At the same time, she and her co-hosts, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Sunny Hostin, discussed health-related topics.

Goldberg then revealed that her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show made people talk and share their opinions online. She noted that people take Ozempic shots or other weight loss prescription medication because they need them.

"They kick her behind when she's bigger, they kick her behind when she's lost the weight, and now they're kicking her behind because she said it out loud," the Color Purple star said.

The actress went on to express her thoughts about today's generation, saying they share everything publicly, like what they eat, but people like her, she's only going to reveal details about her life if she's "ready to tell you" or when she becomes comfortable.

"Stop being mad that they're not doing it your way. It's not like we really know what you're doing," she added, then cheered, "Leave Kelly Clarkson alone!" with Griffin.

The recent comments come after Goldberg appeared on Clarkson's program, where the musician admitted that she had been prescribed an injectable medication to help with her body, but she clarified that it's not Ozempic even though people think otherwise.

Clarkson opened up about her health issue when Kevin James dropped by on her talk show, where she revealed that she was "prediabetic," and she was shocked upon receiving the news, so she acted on it.

Regarding her weight loss, she told People magazine that one of the main factors was constant walking around the city with her two children, Remington Alexander and River Rose.

"Walking in the city is quite the workout... And I'm really into infrared saunas right now. And I just got a cold plunge because everybody wore me down," she said.

Goldberg wasn't the only celebrity who opened up about using prescription medication for weight loss, as Sharon Osbourne previously admitted to using the drug.
