Although Lil' Wayne has announced Tha Carter V would be the final installment in Tha Carter series, Rich Gang member Young Thug has revealed that he plans to carry the torch naming his debut Tha Carter VI.

According to XXL, the "Lifestyle" rapper recently said that he's recorded "a million tracks with [Lil] Wayne already," in addition to working on a mixtape with Birdman and Rich Homie Quan. The tape is slated to drop Monday, Sept. 29.

Young Thug is now gearing up to release his solo debut. Earlier this year, he joked about naming his debut album Tha Carter VI but he may have been more serious than anyone expected.

"I dunno, 'cause Wayne's coming out with more albums," the Atlanta rapper said while on set for a Rich Gang video in Atlanta. "I don't know if he's gonna name one of them Carter VI. It depends on what he names his album."

Back in March, Lil' Wayne told MTV his retirement was no joke. He also said his forthcoming Carter album will be the last of the installment.

"I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes and it's definitely the final Carter album. It's the final Carter album. It's stopping at five," Wayne told the network. "I plan on it being my final solo album. Whenever I have to pitch in for a Young Money album, a Like Father, Like Son album and something like that and maybe something out the blue."

With Wayne backing out, Young Thug has the opportunity to make Tha Carter VI and a few more installments.

"Carter VI to X, he did one to five, I'm gonna do six to 10," he said.
