New information about Pink Floyd's forthcoming album The Endless River is on the web.

With the help of Uncut, SteveHoffman.TV and Consequence of Sound, we've pieced together several facts that should tide you over until its release date on Nov. 10.

  •  With the help of producer Phil Manzanera, Floyd legends David Gilmour and Nick Mason began recording last November and spent 30 days overdubbing guitars and drums.
  •  Original 1969 organ recordings from Richard Wright will also be included.
  •  The new album will feature four different tracks on each side of the record, with each presenting "more atmospheric and digressive aspects of Pink Floyd and includes snippets of conversation."
  •  The song "Louder Than Words" will detail the history of Pink Floyd. Gilmour sings the following lyrics: "We bitch and we fight / But this thing that we do / It's louder than words / The sum of our parts / The beat of our hearts / It's louder than words."
  •  The Endless River will not draw heavily from Gilmour's unreleased album The Big Spliff. In fact, the album is not influenced much by The Big Spliff and incorporates only a few seconds from the original project. You also won't be hearing any of "The Soundscape," an instrumental track released on 1995's Pulse Cassette.

Meanwhile, de facto band leader Roger Waters is not going to be part of the release process or potential follow-up tour (if recent BBC Radio comments are to be believed).

"I'm really glad I was in that band for the 20 years that I was in it and I really enjoyed it," Waters said. "I think we did some great work together but I have no wish to do it ever again."
