Yesterday marked an internationally talked about event that took the world by storm: the People's Climate March. And today, NME reports that Neil Young has stepped up and donated his new song to correspond with the protest –– "Who's Gonna Stand Up (And Save The Earth)."

The publication notes that the famed guitarist originally released a live recording of the track from back in July; however, later dropped a recorded version that was backed by a 92-piece orchestra.

Young claims that he hopes the song is used by protestrs in order to further publicize the highly overlooked problem of climate change.

He notes, "This is how I feel about what is going on in OUR world. You can learn here. I'm giving you my permission to please use this music in videos, clips and communications, or in any way you see fit during this critical time. I hope this music can assist you in the important work we do to reach out for understanding and action in the world."

Aside from the "After the Gold Rush" singer, musician Jarvis Cocker (frontman of Pulp) penned an essay for The Guardian claiming that politics just "don't understand" the issue. Additionally, Radiohead's own Thom Yorke is getting in on the action. While he was not able to attend the march, he did share a playlist of songs for protesters via Twitter.
