Now, we've gotten a taste of the Britney Spears album her 2013 effort Britney Jean might have been... Two new rough edits of songs penned and performed by Dev Hynes (a.k.a., Blood Orange) have leaked online, and it's been revealed that he originally intended them for the "Perfume" singer.

Entitled simply "No name" and "10 Seconds," the potential Spears songs venture pretty far into ballad territory and feel notably more like Blood Orange and less like the chaotic pop landscape that made it onto Britney Jean.

A stunning piano anthem about losing love, "10 Seconds" features controlled, soft vocals over heartbreaking melodies, hinting at the pain behind a break up.

Meanwhile, the second and unnamed demo is a dark, winding and creeping slow anthem until it picks up in the chorus with a round of electronic twinkles and Hynes signature soothing vocals.

Of course, neither "10 Seconds" nor "No Name" made it onto Britney Jean, a fact that Hynes is not so happy about. In an interview with The Guardian last year, he lamented the fact that Spears' camp rejected his material, stating that he was "actually so stoked about them."

"But they'd always come back with why they didn't like it and it wouldn't make any sense. I'd almost prefer them to say: 'We're scared we're not going to make any money so we're just going to use Will.i.am.'" he said. "It's funny - the people in charge of a lot of these artists... I don't want to say they're not real people, but it's not a fan sensibility. I feel like that's what makes the best music, when people are a fan of the person they're working with."

But at least we have the demos...
