Over the summer, rumors circulated that Coolio had signed a deal with Pornhub when he had in fact just dropped a promotional track for the company. Now Billboard reports that although Coolio won't be dropping an album with them, Pornhub is in fact entering the music industry with a new record label called Pornhub Records. It launched today along with contest to find an official "anthem" for the site.

"We've always seen a strong music presence from the beginning of Pornbub," company head of PR and marketing Matt Blake told Billboard. "Artists upload their own stuff, like uncensored tracks and R-rated versions of songs. Some people come in and upload exclusive videos, so it creates a buzz for them."

Billboard points to New York-based electronic producer FaltyDL and experimental post-punk group Xiu Xiu who have both premiered videos on the site.

Blake and PornHub VP Corey Price told Billboard they are in discussions with some high-profile artists to help judge their Song Search Contest for an official anthem. The winner will receive $5,000 toward a music video to be featured on PornHub.tv. The company guarantees a minimum of 500,000 views, which shouldn't be a problem seeing as the site receives an average of 40 million views a day. However, the winner won't necessarily be signed to the label and the Price stressed that entrants don't even need to be in the music business.

"We're looking for acts that aren't necessarily porn-focused," says Price. "We're an ad-based network looking for content that appeals to our demographic. Mature lyrics for an adult audience; no boy bands or teen-pop, for instance. Producers, music technicians, everyone in the business you could imagine [have entered the contest]. There's erotic folk, rap, country -- everybody has come to us."
