Jay Z's Life+Times recently launched a new series of documentary shorts called Where I'm From. "N---as In Paris" producer Hit-Boy stars in the series' premiere episode.

In the 7-minute clip, Hit-Boy takes fans through the neighborhoods he grew up in while documenting his non-stop work ethic, family support, HS87 and aspirations to be different.

The super producer-rapper also reveals he started out making beats on FruityLoops while his father sent him raps from jail. He would recite over his homemade beats.

"Really, this is my focus," he says in the video. "This is what I've always wanted. I've been calling for this s--t for a long time so for it all to be really placed in front of my face now, I gotta step up to the challenge and balance this s--t out really just keep this s--t booming."

Earlier this month, Billboard revealed Frank Ocean logged studio time with the Grammy award winning producer. Back in June, Hit-Boy shared a snippet of "No Such Thing As White Jesus", a Nas song featuring Ocean's vocals.

Brooklyn rhymer Joey Bada$$ recently announced Hit-Boy would provide production on his forthcoming B4DA$ album.

"At this point, the album is completed," Joey told MTV News. "[I finished it] literally two days ago. It's been pretty much completed for a while, but it's like when you make ice cream, it's that cherry on the top that really brings it all together. The whole time, I've been searching for sprinkles, and now I got it nicely decorated and everything, so it's ready to go. I worked with Statik Selektah heavy. I worked with DJ Premier. Hit-Boy. There's Kirk Knight. There's Chuck Strangers. Zo Supreme."
