Amanda Knox is best known for her conviction in Italy for murdering 21-year-old English exchange student Meredith Kercher with then-lover Rafaelle Sollecito.

Knox was originally sentenced to more than 28 years in prison and served four years before being released after being found not guilty upon appeal.

Ironically, Italy does not have double jeopardy, so when Knox and Sollecito were retried for the same crime, they were again convicted. Both are waiting the outcome of another appeal, with Knox insisting she will never willingly return to Italy to serve another minute behind bars for a crime she insists she is innocent of.

When Knox first returned to the States, she was residing in Seattle and connected at the hip to her boyfriend, classical pianist James Terrano. After recent reports that the two had split, Knox was spotted over the weekend at Coney Island in Brookyln, New York, with her rumored new guy, a musician named Colin Sutherland.

According to onlookers, Knox was not exactly trying to blend in with the crowd.

"They were both oblivious to everything around them and only seemed bothered about each other, like a pair of teenagers," claimed a bystander.

While it makes sense that Knox might want to keep it moving, especially if she fears potential deportation to Italy in connection with the 2007 murder charges, it is kind of ironic that we only ever hear about her love life.

She graduated with a degree in creative writing and appears to be pretty smart, but she has always been sexualized and reduced to being only as important as what man she is caught kissing. It has been alleged that Knox and Sollecito's murder charges ultimately stem from a sex game with Kercher gone wrong.

While Knox has repeatedly declared her innocence and claims to want to be taken seriously, do you think she does not mind the extra attention being dubbed a "Lolita" has brought her? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
