The search for Beverly Carter, an Arkansas real estate agent, came to a sad end Tuesday morning when law enforcement confirmed that her body had been found.

Authorities said Arron Lewis has already admitted to kidnapping Carter and claimed she was targeted because "she was just a woman that worked alone, a rich broker."

Lewis also claimed he had an accomplice named "Trevor" who actually committed the murder. As of now, only Lewis has been officially connected to the crime and, according to the sheriff's department, he is considered by them to be the sole suspect.

Lewis pleaded not guilty this morning to charges of kidnapping, capital murder and four counts of a felon in possession of a firearm. A press conference to discuss this case has been scheduled for this afternoon. Carter went missing Sept. 25 after showing a home near Little Rock, Arkansas, and there was an extensive search for her throughout the weekend.

After learning that Carter's body had been found, the family issued a statement:

"We are devastated at the loss of our precious Beverly. There is now a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. Mr. Lewis robbed us of an amazing wife, loving mother and grandmother. Her grandkids will never get to the know the magnitude of her greatness. As we grieve, we thank law enforcement for their diligence in finding her, every person that aided in the search efforts, New Life Pentecostal Church, Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield, our community for their love and support, and for every prayer that has been spoken. We draw some comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of Jesus. God bless you all."

Do you think Lewis is the only real suspect in this awful crime or will a co-defendant eventually be named? Comment below.
