Jack White's first live shows in 2015 are going to be monsters. The guitarist recently announced a gig at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Jan. 28 followed by one at Madison Square Garden in New York City Jan. 30.

White's MSG gig will be his first return to the venue since 2007, when he played it during his White Stripes days, Consequence of Sound reports. On Saturday, Oct. 11, White will play in Mexico City before heading to Europe and the U.K. to finish out 2014. He is also scheduled to perform a tune from his most recent release, Lazaretto, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this Thursday, Oct. 9.

In a recent conversation with Pearl Jam's Mike McCready, White touched on a variety of topics, including gender politics in the music business.

"It's a real shame that if a woman goes onstage with an instrument — guitar or drums or something — it's almost a novelty," he said. "Like, 'Oh, isn't that cute.' It's a shame that in 2014 that's a little bit of what's going on in the perception in the room."

A three-disc compilation highlighting White's set from Bonnaroo, where the musician played an extra 45 minutes with an encore packed with White Stripes songs and a Led Zeppelin cover, is in the works. The package will be available through White's label Third Man Records.
