Fans of The Boss can now get their little ones started early thanks to Rockabye Baby!'s Lullaby Renditions of Bruce Springsteen.
The company has softened the likes of AC/DC, Van Halen, Kanye West, Jay Z and The Flaming Lips in the past, and they released a compilation of Bruce Springsteen instrumental classics recently. "Does your baby think they were born to run?" the album's description asks. "If your little Boss isn't tired and wants to prove it all night, tuck them in with these blissful versions of Bruce Springsteen's classic rock anthems. We promise there will be lots of sleeping in the dark."
There are a total of 13 Springsteen cuts included on the album, spanning from material off of Born in the U.S.A. to Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town (see the tracklist below).
In a January interview with NPR's Ann Powers, Springsteen talked about having his children record on "Down in a Hole," a track on his 14th studio effort High Hopes. "This is hilarious," the artist recalled.
"My daughter, the other day — she had to sign a release. Of course, I doubt she remembers even [singing]. I think she was 8 years old when she did it, she's like 20 now. But she said, 'What is this?' I said, 'You're a recording artist. You have to like sign this.' 'Really?' 'Yeah.' 'Oh, cool.' Patti [Scialfa] sings fabulously on that track, first of all, she just did amazing things with her voice on it. And the kids did some sort of very ghosty part behind her or with her and they were very young and I, at the time, I recorded them on several things, some of which haven't been released but were just, they had a beautiful sound the three of them when they sang together at that time. And occasionally they still do and so I just brought them in and said, 'OK, try this,' and they put the big headsets on and they took a swing at it and they're on the record. "
A group of artists recently put out a tribute album to Springsteen's Born in the U.S.A. titled Dead Man's Town.
