Just when we thought that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon couldn't get any busier, the Syfy Network announced that the duo is dipping their toes into scripted television, as their Pearl Street Films company is developing a new drama for the network. Their new venture, Incorporated is being described as a futuristic espionage thriller that is set in a world where corporation's appear to have endless power. This new drama is going to be the story of one man's attempts at beating the carefully organized system.

David and Alex Pastor (Selfless, The Last Days) will share writing duties on the pilot, which hails from CBS Television Studios and Pearl Street. Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife) will serve as both show runner and executive producer. Damon, Affleck and Pearl Street president Jennifer Todd are also set to executive produce. Pearl Street creative executive Margaret Chernin has been tapped as an associate producer.

Syfy is owned by NBC universal and has recently shifted its creative focus towards science fiction drama series that are more in the vein of Battlestar Galactica. It has added several new shows to its' roster that follow this new formula such as Z Nation, Olympus and Ascension. Original scripted drama's seem to do incredibly well on cable networks so Syfy is probably quite smart to make a deal with Pearl Street Films.

Although Affleck and Damon have both hit some sour notes in terms of projects in the past those missteps have helped them to fine-tune their radar in terms of what will really work. Are you excited to see what Incorporated will do for Syfy? Perhaps they will help to push the concept of original science fiction drama's into a totally different realm and that would easily advance the whole genre, right?
