The Arcade Fire have been less than forthcoming with details regarding the band's forthcoming fourth album. An Australian radio station seems to have much more definite information regarding the project, possibly titled "Reflektor."

"Next Monday (9th) at 9pm EST we will have the new single from Arcade Fire to play for you," tweeted Richard Kingsmill, a DJ for Australian station Triple J, "The King." No ambiguity about that. Although Merge Records hasn't confirmed the statement to be true, they confirmed to Rolling Stone that something Arcade Fire-related will definitely happen at the time indicated. Seems to suggest that Triple J isn't just pulling a publicity stunt.

Buzz for the new album began as soon as the group won Best Album for "The Suburbs" at the 2011 Grammys of course, but things really heated up when LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy confirmed that he would be helping with production. Murphy described what he had heard as "real f-----g epic."

Early in August, a series of street art installments began to appear in cities across the world. The chalk art pieces featured a diamond constructed of nine smaller diamonds. The word "REFLEKTOR" was spelled out within. The band acknowledged its role in the campaign when a similar banner appeared in New York City, marking the date "September 9" (the same date as mentioned by Triple J, if you aren't following).

No one has actually confirmed that the album will be titled "Reflektor," but it's as good a guess as any. Don't be surprised if it ends up being the name of the forthcoming single as well. Although little else is known about the album, it's been confirmed that October 29 will be the release date.
