Things aren't looking good for WWE favorite Daniel Bryan, who has been sidelined since last May due to a neck and elbow injury. Fans of Total Divas have watched Bryan's behind-the-scenes struggle to return to the ring as his body seems to be working against him. After a holistic approach failed and a minimally invasive neck surgery didn't bring the desired results word is circulating that Bryan islikely headed for Tommy John surgery, something that requires an extensive recovery time.

According to SEScoops,

"The typical recovery for Tommy John Surgery is 6-12 months depending on the physical activity the athlete is involved in. It is still not known if he will ever wrestle again, as this injury, prevents him from being cleared to wrestle. WWE's creative team is still working under the assumption that Bryan won't be back in action any time soon and are not factoring him into any creative plans."

If Bryan has to have the surgery, that will inevitably mess up whatever plan that WWE was still holding out for him. The former champ was expected to be given the kind of push that would have resulted in him headlining the main event at WrestleMania against Brock Lesnar in March. If he isn't in the ring for a year, that means that his worth to the organization will inevitably drop.

When Bryan was first injured, those close to him were pushing him to have surgery right away so that he could come back sooner. Now that he has basically wasted months by waiting it out only to have no change Bryan must be kicking himself. Do you think he will be able to eventually return to the WWE?
