For the last few years, Record Store Day has been holding a special Black Friday event with exclusive, limited edition vinyl releases from prominent artists. Today, Pitchfork reports that this year's Black Friday releases have been announced, which includes releases from OutKast, The Flaming Lips, Wu-Tang Clan, and more.

OutKast will be releasing a translucent green 10" of their debut single "Player's Ball" backed with an extended edit, while Wu-Tang Clan will be releasing a picture disc for their classic single "C.R.E.A.M." backed with "Da Mystery of Chessboxin'," cut in the shape of their "W" logo. The Flaming Lips will be reissuing their ultra-rare Christmas album Atlas Eets Christmas on red vinyl under the name Imagene Peise.

Other exclusives include Jenny Lewis, who is releasing alternate versions of two songs from her recent album The Voyager as part of Ryan Adams' Pax-Am Single Series. Mastodon will be releasing a 12" picture-disc of their recent single "The Motherload" backed with an instrumental version of their song "Halloween," and Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes will be releasing two unreleased songs on a seven-inch single.

In a statement posted to the FAQ section of their website, Record Store Day clarified how their Black Friday event is different from a typical Black Friday event in the U.S., saying, "In the past Black Friday was an American event created by large corporate retailers as a shopping day that promoted mass produced items at super low prices in hopes of driving customers into their stores. RSD's Black Friday subverts the model and creates pieces of art in the form of limited special editions often numbered, from a diverse list of beloved artists."

"RSD's version of Black Friday is an excuse to celebrate both the pieces themselves and the special indie record stores who carry them," the statement continued. "Cheap, mass-produced frenzy is not the goal."

This year's Black Friday will take place on Nov. 28.
