Marching band routines have gotten more exciting over the years, but Florida State University's recent halftime dance performance of Beyoncé's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" is one for the books.

Band members ditched their instruments in the middle of their rendition of Queen Bey's 2008 super hit so they could re-enact the dance from the music video, Billboard notes. After strutting their stuff for a frenzied crowd, the band finished out the tune. Check out the insanely sweet performance below.

The Florida State football team was also on top of their game that night, beating Notre Dame 31-27 Saturday, Oct. 18.

Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" is from her third studio album, I Am ... Sasha Fierce. It peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in addition to conquering the R&B and dance charts.

The singer dropped her fifth record, Beyoncé, in December to good reviews.

"Beyoncé may have gotten 'bored' with the popstar routine, as she confesses in 'Ghost,'" Rolling Stone wrote about the album. "But only massive hubris could have made a feat like this album possible. And Beyoncé's hubris makes the world a better, more Beyoncé-like place."

Jay-Z hit the road with his wife for a co-headlining tour that started in June and wrapped last month. A film highlighting the pair's final, two-night stop in Paris premiered on HBO Sept. 20.

"The most powerful couple in music could have easily just coasted on their names, performing a sparse half-Jay/half-Bey concert before cashing the Roc Nation checks," Rolling Stone wrote about the couple's first show in June. "Instead, over the course of two-and-a-half hours and 42 songs, the Carters opened their joint On the Run tour with a well-synchronized cinematic spectacle.

"Between the visuals, the outfits, the stage setup, the pyrotechnics and the insane setlist, they provided enough hits and eye candy to make the Miami audience forget all about LeBron James opting out of his Heat contract."
