Yesterday, Arcade Fire released two videos for their new single "Reflektor."

The first release was an interactive short film directed by Vincent Morisset. With the help of Google Chrome, the viewer can use mouse, tablet or Smartphone to control the effects in the video and see their own reflections. The band shared a behind the scenes video on the process of developing this technology.

As for the storyline of the video, it tells the tale of a young Haitian woman who travels between two worlds.

In the second music video for the track, directed by Anton Corbijn, the band is transformed into a brigade of bobble heads. It has a very different feel from the interactive video, and is a darker, trippier interpretation.

Shot in black and white, the video opens with a shot of a truck that looks like it would be from the World War II era. A garage door opens slowly, and the band is revealed — holding bobble-headed masks of themselves in their arms. They put on their new freaky heads and load their instruments in the truck. The band begins to play the song in the trunk bed while they journey through the forest. As they drive through the woods, a man made of shards of mirror (picture a disco ball as a man) appears.

It seems as though this disco-man has the band on mind control. Throughout the video, they dance with creepy dolls in their hands, they carry a reflective casket, they levitate a disco ball in a field, and they migrate to a river on their hands and knees to view their reflection in the water. The main theme here is reflection, be it the reflection of light or the reflection of one's own image.

The video ends with vocalists Win Butler and Régine Chassagne walking back into the garage. The door closes, and "Reflektor" is written on it (as it is on the album).

To get the full effect of both of these videos, you really have to see it for yourself. If nothing else, these video releases show that the band has been hard at work and that big things are probably in store for Arcade Fire fans.

"Reflektor" is the first single off the album of the same name. The track features David Bowie on vocals and was produced by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem. The full album is set to drop Oct. 29. Consequence of Sound reported that the band will appear on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, Saturday Sept. 28.
