Taylor Swift's clothing preferences have evolved over the years, along with her music, but in a new ad for Target, she claims, "we never go out of style." The commercial shows 1989-inspired Polaroids of Swift gallivanting through the streets of New York City while her new song "Never Go Out of Style" plays in the background.

UPDATE: the new tracklist reveals the title of the song is actually "Style."

Swift sings about a guy with slicked-back hair and a white T-shirt — a classic style — in a clip of the new poppy love song.

Before her vocals come in, Swift talks about the role moving to New York City has played in her songwriting.

"I've been so inspired by being in New York because everything from what people are wearing on the street to the way they're interacting with each other ... drive through the West Village at night and you'll see a couple kissing on the street or you see someone fighting outside their apartment," she said. "You see so much humanity on a daily basis, that if you're not inspired by your own life that day, you can be inspired by someone else's life."

If her song "Welcome To New York" wasn't proof enough, Swift is clearly in love with the city.

1989 is due out next Tuesday (Oct. 27). An extended version featuring three bonus songs and three songwriting voice memos will be available at Target.

We're forecasting big chart success for the new album, considering her eight-second clip of white noise went to No. 1 on iTunes in Canada.
