She & Him's compilation of standards, aptly titled Classics, will be out in time for the holidays.

The duo, which includes Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, announced the Dec. 2 release date for their major-label debut today (Oct. 24), but there's little else to report. As Consequence of Sound notes, the album will include 13 "carefully-selected, timeless standards," but a tracklist is still pending. She & Him recorded the album live with a 20-piece orchestra.

The pair shared a snippet of the album in a trailer, revealing one possible track to be Carole King's "Oh No Not My Baby." Currently, the duo's website, via a digital radio widget, plays a cover of Dusty Springfield's "Stay Awhile" also. Tune the radio to 1201 to listen.

"We are incredibly excited to release a record of our favorite songs," Deschanel said in a statement in August. "It was a dream of ours to record these songs in a way that highlighted the brilliance of the songwriting and the beauty of their melodies. We had a wonderful time making the record and we hope people have a wonderful time listening to it."

Deschanel and Ward joined forces for four albums while a part of Merge Records, releasing Volume 3 just last year. Pitchfork gave the album a favorable review. "Pulling tricks from the songbook of 60s pop and country crooners like Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline, She & Him bask unabashedly in the glow of nostalgia, but Deschanel also finds a way to assert a unique personality within the pop idiom," the review read.

The duo put out Volume 1 and Volume 2 in 2008 and 2010, respectively, before releasing an album of holiday classics in 2011 titled A Very She & Him Christmas.
