Las Vegas is always buzzing with activity and earlier this month, it was buzzin' country style. Not only did the 3-day Route 91 Harvest Festival at Mandalay Bay take place, Miranda Lambert's 7th annual Cause for the Paws benefit concert was also on deck. The person for seven rescue dogs, Miranda has a long history of going above and beyond for our four-legged friends.

The benefit has always been held in either Texas or Oklahoma and both Miranda and her mom were a bit concerned about how big the event would be outside of their home states. In a press release, Bev said, "Miranda and I were a bit apprehensive about moving the 7th Annual Cause For The Paws from our homes states of Texas and Oklahoma into Las Vegas. As our long time sponsors signed on in record time and the tickets for the 1st Harvest Festival began to sell out we started to feel like this year may indeed be worthy of the name - Lucky 7! We stand amazed at the support that her fans, friends and sponsors continue to show as they join hands with us to help shelter pets across the US. We both continue our pledge to be watchful over every penny donated."

Miranda tipped her hat to the folks that came, saying, "I always have a great time in Vegas, but being able to save dogs along the way was probably the best. Getting to do what I love and help the cause that’s closest to my heart, and do it in Vegas; it doesn’t get any better. With the money raised, I am looking forward to seeing lots of dogs find loving forever homes through adoption."

The event brought in a total of $628,148, which came from the proceeds from Miranda's performance at the Festival, a sold out VIP cocktail party that had a live auction, a silent auction and an online eBay auction with items from Blake Shelton, Miranda, Live Nation and MGM Resorts. The auctions themselves raised over $60,000. The money raised will be used for several projects on the books for next year including finishing work on and funding Redemption Ranch, the first MuttNation Foundation owned and operated shelter, which will be opening in Tishomingo, Oklahoma on November 22nd.

A project coming up even sooner will be the FIRST Muttoberfest, to be held tomorrow at 6232 E. 60th Street in Tulsa, OK. MuttNation Foundation, in partnership with the Humane Society of Tulsa, will have over 100 dogs and cats (all of whom have been vaccinated, tested and spayed and neutered) that were rescued by MuttNation Foundation available for adoption.
