It's been two years since Imagine Dragons released its debut album Night Visions, so it's time the band got on a new album cycle. Today (Oct. 27), the epic rock band released the first taste of its unnamed sophomore album, another strong armed rolling anthem "I Bet My Life."

Fans of the massive sounds of Imagine Dragons will be pleased with "I Bet My Life." Though mildly quieter than songs like "Radioactive" or "Demons," "I Bet My Life" still contains all those factors that makes a song distinctively Imagine Dragons-y. A slow, mid-tempo verse that builds in emotion and volume until an explosive chorus hits listeners' ears before bringing the levels right back down for verse No. 2.

"I Bet My Life" draws Imagine Dragons into a bit more folky territory, with the chorus' bombastic, rolling chorus featuring a syncopation that feels distinctly like something from a Mumford & Sons song. It's the perfect giant chorus for massive stadium show sing-alongs, another staple of Imagine Dragons.

"I Bet My Life" is the lead single from Imagine Dragons' forthcoming sophomore effort, due out sometime in 2015. A tentative release date or timeframe, album title, cover or tracklist have yet to be unveiled.

The new effort will be the immediate follow-up to Imagine Dragons' 2012 debut album Night Visions, which spawned the massive singles "Radioactive," "It's Time" and "Demons." Though "I Bet My Life" is the first album single from Imagine Dragons in some time, it's not the band's first release this year. In September, Imagine Dragons released "Warriors" for the video game League of Legends.
