Michael Eavis gets more attention from British music media than any other individual (we reckon) thanks to his role in planning and organizing the Glastonbury Music Festival. Even we in the states get excited when the word "lineup" or "headliner" comes out of his mouth. He narrowed the list of possible headliners down by two, according to NME, stating that Fleetwood Mac and Queen were definitely out of the running.

"Queen? Not Queen, no," he said. "Fleetwood Mac don't seem to be available at the moment. But we've got three excellent headliners for next year."

Of course, journalists could just continue to pepper him with names so he may be misleading us intentionally as to not give away a headliner nearly eight months in advance. After all, last year he continued to quash rumors that Prince would be headlining and...uh, yeah. Prince didn't end up being a headliner.

The news is more notable due to its impact on gambling in the UK. Predicting the headliners via a bookie is actually a huge hobby across the pond. Although Queen wasn't near the top of the list when it comes to odds, gambling hub William Hill had Fleetwood Mac as its favorite for a spot at the Pyramid Stage, at 4/1.

Then again, oddsmakers don't always have the most realistic of expectations. Oasis is listed at 8/1 despite repeated sentiment from both Gallagher brothers that a comeback isn't imminent. David Bowie is also listed at 20/1 despite not having performed since 2006.

We'll see. For now all we can do is expect Eavis to toy with our emotions some more until the announcement is finally made next year.
