Word to the wise; if you ever steal someone's car, don't leave it around the corner with your ID in it. That is what happened to British DJ / producer Mat Zo over the weekend. A small group of teenagers decided to steal his car, post the evidence to social media and then leave actual evidence in the car. They don't seem like they are going to be cast for the next Italian Job.

Mat Zo found out about his car being stolen and took to social media to lambast the kid (via Mixmag). Another tip to everyone out there; if you plan on stealing someone's car and think there is the possibility you might get caught, don't steal someone famous' car. This is where having a sarcastic attitude and a whole lot of people to express it to on Twitter helps.

His car was stolen in the Los Angeles suburb of Covina and the thieves could not seem to get out of their own way. One of the culprits, a high-school aged kid, managed to leave their backpack in the car, which had his identification in it. Mat Zo then decided to take that wit and sarcasm to twitter to lambast his car thieves calling out by name the person who left their backpack in his car, Jacob. Apparently it was not Jacob who stole his car, but a friend, but you can imagine the ridicule Jacob has received for his actions over the past several days.

It appears the situation was not nearly as bad as it could have been, as Matan Zohar, known professionally as Mat Zo says, "Getting my car back has been more stressful than getting it stolen. Seriously."
