Russell Brand has heard your "Parklife" jokes and memes, and now the comedian, actor and political activist has taken the '90s Blur hit and remade it himself to bring attention to some of the major problems in England. Today (Nov. 10), Brand teamed up with "The Rubberbandits" to release a parody version of "Parklife."

After one Twitter user commented that Brand's Cockney accent and tendency to use flowery, rambling language in his political discourse was remnant of "Parklife," Twitter users responding to the comedian would often just shout PARKLIFE at him, turning the phrase into a Brand-centric meme.

Though an unofficial "Parklife" and Brand mashup is floating around the Internet, the activist has now taken the song and turned it on its head, tackling British income inequality - one of his many causes.

"Verbal dexterity plus extraction is what leads to parodies of / Parklife / But words used officially can be a dangerous tool that slides through propaganda like a / Sharp knife," Brand sings in the Blur parody before taking on more serious topics, like the previously mentioned wage gap and large companies' tax evasion.

"We can't get our heads around the fact that five families have as much dough as 12 million Brits / That can't be right in any accent / Class strife," the parody continues.

Brand, though best known for movies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek, has taken up political causes lately. He's been a regular attendee at protests and rallies across the world and is currently promoting his latest book Revolution.
