Your Old Droog is one of the New York hip-hop scene's biggest oddballs.

His self-titled debut EP — released earlier this year — features references to Tony Stark, Jerry Hellers and George Thorogood, to name a few.

Rolling Stone reports YOG is stepping up his game with an 18-song digital album (to be released via Empire Distribution), which will combine the 10 EP tracks with eight new ones.

"No low-quality MP3 business here, everything this time is high quality on some 320 hi-def s---," Droog told RS.

The eight new tracks are all produced by R'Thentic, and include remixes of "Loosey in the Store with Pennies" and "Bad to the Bone."

What can we expect from one of NYC's most unexpected success stories?

"'Me showing my versatility," he said. "Is that the type of shit musicians say? People think they got me pegged, but they don't know how I really get down."

Droog is a weird dude who has long lived in the shadows of the New York rap scene. His secrecy led many to believe a rumor that that the debut EP was just Nas recording a secret album.

MTV wrote about the conspiracy in October: Droog, has since released a freestyle video and performed at a sold-out show in New York City, showing his face and mostly putting those pesky rumors to rest. The New Yorker, The New York Times and Complex.com have all declared that Nas is not Droog, but still there are some conspiracy theorist who are insistent.

Nas was nonplussed when asked about a secret album.

"Who me? I don't even know what that means," he said. "No secret EPs, I don't want a secret EP I want you to know it's me when I drop."

Nas or not, this stuff is interesting. Check it out:
