The Decemberists are taking their new album What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World on the road in 2015. Today (Nov. 17), the "Make You Better" band announced that it will launch its first North American tour in three years beginning in March.

According to the band's official Facebook page and website, the live shows in support of The Decemberists' What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World will begin in the band's hometown of Portland, Oregon, on March 21. Over the next month, The Decemberists will then tackle major markets such as Chicago, Boston and New York before wrapping up the tour on Apr. 13 in Nashville.

The Minus 5, whom The Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy has worked with in the past, will open on the Portland date. Indie band Alvvays will open on the remainder of the tour.

General on-sale tickets will go on sale Friday, Nov. 21, with a limited pre-sale occurring on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
