Grunge legends Soundgarden are having a pretty good 2014, reissuing their 1994 classic Superunknown and releasing the three-disc rarities compilation Echo of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across the Path, but they're far from done with the reissues. In an interview with Pulse of Radio (via Blabbermouth), guitarist Kim Thayil revealed that the band has plans to remix and reissue its debut album Ultramega OK, which was released in 1988 and recorded with legendary grunge producer Jack Endino, who also recorded Mudhoney and Nirvana.

"Lasy year, Jack Endino and I spent a number of weeks remixing Ultramega OK," Thayil said, "and we're gonna search for a label — it's no longer on SST — and put it out with a beautiful, heavier, warmer mix from Jack Endino, which is something we felt we always had to correct about that release."

In addition to this reissue, Thayil also revealed over the summer that Soundgarden has plans to release a new studio album in 2015. "We're probably gonna start working on another album in 2015," he told Faster Louder. "I know Chris [Cornell] has been writing stuff while we're on tour...I come up with a lot of ideas, a lot of riffs, every time I pick up a guitar but it's difficult to assemble a song for me while touring."

Soundgarden's most recent studio album King Animal was released back in 2012. It was the band's sixth studio album overall, and their first since reuniting in 2010. Prior to King Animal, Soundgarden's last album was 1996's Down on the Upside.

Soundgarden's upcoming three-disc compilation album Echo of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across the Path is set for release on Nov. 24. The album is divided into three distinct sections: Originals, featuring rare and previously unreleased original songs, Covers, featuring cover songs, and Oddities, featuring instrumentals, demos, and remixes.
