Earlier today we told you about Sinead O'Connor's open letter she penned to Miley Cyrus after her interview with Rolling Stone. Cyrus mentions in the interview that O'Connor's 1999 hit "Nothing Compares 2 U" was the inspiration behind her new look and the video for "Wrecking Ball."

O'Connor wrote an open letter to Cyrus telling her not to let the music industry 'prostitute' her. She tells her to be in control of her sexuality and not let people make money off it.

Cyrus responded to the open letter today on Twitter. Her post says, "Before Amanda Bynes.... There was...", and it includes a screen shot of O'Connor's Twitter plea for help finding a psychiatrist in Ireland. Cyrus also posted a photo of O'Connor's SNL appearance in which she is tearing a picture of Pope John Paul II.

It doesn't appear that the young pop star cares about what her pop predecessor has to say. She gets the point across that O'Connor isn't necessarily the most "together" of celebrities, but she could have been more mature in her rebuttal. After all, O'Connor told the pop star outright in the letter that she doesn't want her to go down the same path as she.
