Rock stars are insecure people, just like us. And when you're the lead singer of Nickelback  a band that's incited rock-throwing mayhem and a petition to keep them from playing one of the world's premier cities thanks to their alleged awfulness — you're probably very insecure. But Chad Kroeger is realizing he might not have it as bad as Metallica singer James Hetfield.

"[Brother] Mike [Kroeger] hangs out with James a lot in Maui," Chad said in a recent video interview with Radio Nova. "The two of them are hanging out a lot together. And right when you think that you're the only one who gets it - the backlash - Mike's like, 'Oh no. James pretty much thinks the entire world hates him.'

"I'm like, 'Really?' Suddenly I don't feel so bad any more.'"

This being a Nickelback interview, things got really deep for no apparent reason.

"A friend of mine was saying, 'As long as there's music being played, you'll be for ever in history - how does that feel?' Kroeger said.

"I can't imagine, a hundred years from now, somebody enjoying our songs. It's daunting. It makes you feel small to have created something that could be enjoyed, or hated, for years. I'd love to somehow hear what somebody would say a hundred years from now, how they would respond to it or think about it."

Granted, Nickelback is probably not the government's first choice for a time capsule, but stranger things have happened.

The group recently announced their No Fixed Address Tour, which begins Feb. 15 in Allentown, Pa.
