Garth Brooks took to Facebook today (Nov. 25) to let fans know that he will be canceling all of his TV appearances for the week in the wake of the civil unrest in Ferguson. In case you missed it, the a grand jury in the Missouri city did not indict officer Darren Wilson for the shooting death of African American teenager Michael Brown that occurred in August. The country star said it wouldn't be right to promote his new album, Man Against Machine, after what happened.

"We landed in NY last night to the news of the civil unrest that was going on in our nation. To spend the day promoting our stuff like nothing was wrong, seemed distasteful to me," he wrote in a statement. "I will gladly reschedule any or all appearances the networks will allow. Love one another, g"

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brooks was scheduled to appear on Live! with Kelly and Michael earlier today, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday and Today on Friday. Reps for Live! and The Tonight Show confirmed the singer's cancellation. No rescheduled dates have been announced. The singer's Ellen appearance today was pre-taped.

Artists like Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, Macklemore and Killer Mike have all expressed their opinions on the decision.

Groups of unhappy people took to the streets to riot over their displeasure with the verdict. Police cars were torched and shops were looted. Law enforcement used tear gas for crowd control, leaving reporters for CNN and Fox News at a loss for words on air.

Officials believe that last night (Nov. 24) was the worst of the riots.
