After the tragic death of teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and the grand jury deciding not to indict the white police officer Darren Wilson, the hip-hop community is reacting in the one way it knows how: in song. Last night (Nov. 25), ASAP Ferg released a new song alongside Clams Casino to sort through his feelings on the controversial death and ruling, the slow burning, contemplative track "Talk It."

Though ASAP Ferg is typically known for his abrasive, hard-hitting and violent rhymes, he took things down several notches to express his thoughts and feelings about the situation in Ferguson, police violence and African-Americans' place in the United States.

"All I ever wanted was a Clams Casino beat / To talk about oppression that's repressing my peeps / Ride and ride in that green hoopty with my Uncle D / N.W.A. blasting, screaming 'F**k The Police' / 'Cause they don't give two s**ts about me / I mean we, when I say Ferguson they ain't talk about me," he raps at the opening.

The down-tempo beat, delivered expertly by Clams Casino compliments the thoughtful rhymes, giving the song the serious vibes that it deserves.
