U2 frontman Bono wants to share something with the world, but unlike last time, it's not a surprise copy of Songs of Innocence that magically appears on your Apple device. Today (Dec. 1) is World AIDS Day, Bono is stepping up to take action, as per usual. In an 80-second video in partnership with (RED) and Bank of America, the "The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)" singer asks for viewers to just share a message in order to save millions of lives.

The simplistic video features Bono speaking straight-on to the camera, holding two imaginary pills in front of a red background, as he emphasized the importance of 40 cents a day for those riddled with AIDS in Africa.

"Two pills. Magical, astonishing, incredible pills. They cost 40 cents. Why are they magic?" he asks. "Because, they enable a mother with HIV/AIDS to stay alive and to stop the transmission of that virus to her baby."

Bono also mentions that the world is at a turning point on this World AIDS Day - the 26th annual event - the AIDS battle is at a turning point.

"After losing 39 million people to this deadly little virus, we are finally at a tipping point where we can see the end of this four-decade long pandemic, but only if we stay focused for the most important lap in this race - which is the next lap," he says before detailing the Bank of America/RED partnership.
