The only person whom David Duchovny has been linked to for longer than his ex-wife, Téa Leoni, is his former costar Gillian Anderson. Last summer, Duchovny and Leoni's divorce became final after officially separating for good back in 2011. They had spent a few years before that trying to make things work, but ultimately decided that being apart was better. Yesterday we learned that Leoni is now happily dating her Madame Secretary costar Tim Daly. This is the first time either she or her ex have actually been officially linked to someone else, and many are now wondering if Duchovny will come clean about his romance with Anderson.

The twosome have had rumors swirling around them for years because of their chemistry while working together for the better part of a decade on The X-Files. The show became a cult classic that lives on in syndication, and the most die-hard of fans have clamored for a real-life relationship between these two. As Anderson once said, they likely know each other better than their own spouses ever have, so it is kind of a no-brainer that they might gravitate together.

Duchovny and Anderson have played with the press for years, purposely adding fire to the are-they-or-aren't-they a couple speculation. After her most recent break-up about 18 months ago, Anderson claimed to be living in New York City with Duchovnym and many insiders seem to think a real romance is what exists between these two, but they have chosen to keep it private.

Part of the reason for that privacy might have been out of respect for Leoni's feelings, especially since she and Duchovny have managed to remain real friends while co-parenting their kids. If that is the case, then Anderson and Duchovny might be able to come out of the relationship shadows once and for all.

Do you think they might actually come clean, even by simply being spotted out and about together? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
