Avril Lavigne has been largely absent from the public eye in recent months, and now the "Hello Kitty" singer has revealed why, in a way. She's suffering from an undisclosed health issue.
In a DM Twitter exchange with the Lavigne fan account, @AvrilMusicChart, Lavigne admitted that she is not at work in the studio due to an illness.
"I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them no [sic] why I've been absent. I'm torn as I'm quite private," she wrote. "I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers."
Lavigne has thanked fans on Twitter for their support, those she's remained mum about the reason behind her illness.

However, it has been confirmed that she is not pregnant with husband Chad Kroeger's baby. Billboard spoke to Lavigne's rep who could not speak on exactly what Lavigne is suffering from but denied pregnancy rumors. The publication also confirmed that the DM between Lavigne and her fan was real.

Lavigne's last album, Avril Lavigne was released in November 2013. It spawned singles "Here's to Never Growing Up," "Rock n Roll," "Let Me Go" and "Hello Kitty."
