The Voice season seven has its final four. Last night (Dec. 9), for the first time ever eliminated contestants were given the opportunity to re-enter the competition in the new Wildcard segment. After barely missing the top three on his own merits, former TSA agent and soul singer Damien will be joining Matt McAndrew, Chris Jamison and Craig Wayne Boyd in next week's finale.

The announcement was made this morning on The Today Show by The Voice host Carson Daly, who was joined by the top three.

After a decent performance of Michael Jackson's "She's Out of My Life" and a disastrous performance of Paula Cole's "I Don't Want to Wait" (yes, the Dawson's Creek theme song) on Monday, Damien was eliminated from the top five alongside Taylor John Williams. Thus, he was forced to join the eight other eliminated contestants and sing for the save.

But, he pulled out all the stops. For his saving grace, Damien performed Bruno Mars's "Grenade." It was the perfect song choice, allowing him to show off his passion, range and beautiful gospel tone while still managing to show off a different side of his abilities. Damien, much to embedded in the world of gospel and ballads, got to sing a more mid-tempo tune while still being in his wheelhouse.

And it worked, with Damien beating other favorites including Williams, DaNica Shirey and even the early eliminated contestant Sugar Joans, who gave a strong performance of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black."

Damien and the rest of the top four will perform on Monday, Dec. 15, for the title of "The Voice."
