Singer Jeremih was reportedly arrested on Friday at Newark Liberty International Airport for attempting to sneak onto a plane. As a result, he missed his performance in California.

According to TheGrio, Jeremih and a fellow musician named Adam Woods attempted to sneak onto a plane after missing their boarding call for their US Airways flight to Phoenix. Instead of requesting the next flight, the "Don't Tell Em" singer and Woods opted to sneak onto the plane with the help of their entourage, who were already onboard.

Reports indicate the singer reached out to his bouncer, Dontate Cunningham, 26, who opened the plane's rear door after it was already closed for takeoff. His intentions were to let Jeremih and Woods onto the plane.

Port Authority police were called and took all three men into custody shortly thereafter.

Jeremih and Woods were charged with obstruction of the administration of law and disorderly conduct. Cunningham was charged with defiant trespass.

The three remained in custody and Jeremih subsequently missed his performance. He was listed on a bill in Fresno with Wiz Khalifa, T-Pain and Baby Bash.

During a recent interview with Billboard, Jeremih admitted that he may be at fault for holding his own career back, namely pointing to the disconnect with his fans.

"When you can count on your hands how many videos you've done in your career, when you've never performed your hits on TV, something's not right," he said. "Everyone always wants to say I'm shy. I don't think so, but there's a disconnect with my fans. I want my fans to see me -- that's what they never do."

Looks like he missed an opportunity to be seen by his fans. Any thoughts? Sound off in the comment section below.
