When Taylor Swift pulled her entire catalogue from Spotify before the release of her new album 1989, obviously the streaming service and its users were unhappy, but the "Blank Space" singer has revealed that industry people of all kind have offered up a massive amount of support for her.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter for its "Rule Breakers 2014" issue, Swift revealed that she didn't expect her withdrawal from Spotify to really make headlines at all or be a controversy.

"I didn't think that it would be shocking to anyone. With as many ways as artists are personalizing their musical distribution, it didn't occur to me that this would be anything that anyone would talk about," Swift said.

And the big news splash surrounding the release of 1989 and her whole catalogue disappearing from Spotify wasn't the only unexpected consequence of Swift's actions. While the streaming service is unhappy that it and Swift and "Never Ever Getting Back Together," Swift admitted that people in the industry have thanked her for her stance against Spotify.

"I could never have expected so many text messages, emails and phone calls from other artists, writers and producers saying thank you," she said.

In case you missed it, before the release of her new album 1989 in October, Swift removed all of her music from Spotify, citing that the streaming service did not pay songwriters or producers their fair share. Since then, other acts such as Jason Aldean have also removed their music from the service.
