After yesterday’s announcement that the Jonas Brother had canceled their fall tour and were breaking up, the trio made an appearance on Good Morning America to explain the reason why.

"I was actually the one that initiated the conversation," Nick said. "You know, we're family first and that's always been our main priority and so honesty within what we do as a group was really important. So I came to the table with the guys just before we were prepping to leave for tour and I shared my heart with them, my feelings."
Nick then explained what he and his brothers discussed during the difficult conversation.

"I think in a nutshell I said, 'Look, I feel like we've had some complications with the new group for a long time without addressing them," Nick said. "I think this train will fall off the tracks without really getting real about some of the concerns and some of the limitations we may feel as individuals.'"

Joe chimed in and listed a few reasons the band wasn’t working out, including their music getting “stale,” the brothers butting heads on everything and missing out on personal opportunities. “At some point we decided it was beset to finish this,” he said, “and support each other in our ventures along the way.”

Unfortunately for fans awaiting the release of their next album, V, the band confirmed that they don’t plan to release the album full, though they have already dropped the singles “Pom Poms” and “First Time.” But, Kevin said that they do plan to do something special to give back to their fans for their continued support.

"So what we've done is we're gonna release four of the unreleased songs from the album," he said. "The rest of the album will be never released ... we put together the live tracks from last summer tour, about 10 songs, so we'll actually be giving that to our fan club members as a gift."

So what’s next for the brothers? Nick and Joe said they are focusing on other music and acting opportunities and that Kevin is focusing on being a father and starting his own entertainment company.

However, Nick added that the band hasn’t necessarily ended forever. "I think it's impossible to say forever with anything, but I feel like we're playing it one step at a time. Right now and, like we said, we're rebuilding as brothers first and starting from there."
