Maroon 5 has shared a remix of their latest single "Animals," featuring a new guest verse from OutKast's Big Boi, which you can check out below. Though the track has a typical Maroon 5 electro-pop atmosphere, the production becomes more sparse and appropriately hip-hop-influenced for Big Boi's verse following the second chorus.

"Animals" was the third single to be released from Maroon 5's latest album V, following "Maps" and "It Was Always You." V was released Aug. 29 and, as its title implies, is the band's fifth studio album overall, their first since 2012's Overexposed.

"What's great ... these days is that you really don't need to always be in the same room as producers and songwriters," frontman Adam Levine told Official Charts about the production process behind V. "We wrote this song with Benny [Bianco] and Nate Ruess that Nate had initially recorded the melody of into his phone. We sat in a car listening to this rough mobile phone recording and we wrote a song around it. It wasn't until months later that I ended up meeting him for the first time."

"There's a million different ways to approach songwriting," he continues, "and changing it up like we did hopefully makes the finished album more interesting."

"Animals" is not the only hip-hop remix Maroon 5 has released from V. The Wal-Mart edition of the album includes a remix of "Maps" featuring Detroit rapper — and Mr. Ariana Grande — Big Sean. As for the 11 tracks on the standard edition of the album, Adam Levine's The Voice co-star Gwen Stefani is the only featured artist, appearing on the album's closing track "My Heart Is Open."
