The Dallas Cowboys can "Come & Get It." Or, at least, they will get Selena Gomez. Yesterday (Nov. 4), it was announced Stars Dance pop star has signed on to perform during halftime at the annual Dallas Cowboys/Oakland Raiders Thanksgiving Day football game this year.

In an announcement made to DallasCowboys.com, Gomez (a Texas native) expressed her excitement about performing at the yearly game."I'm so excited to be here. I'm from Texas, so I'm a little nervous, I'm not going to lie," she said. "But I'm very honored and I hope that we come -- me, my dancers and my band -- and we give Texas a really good show and I make them proud."

Watching the Dallas Cowboys football game is a part of Gomez's family's holiday tradition, adding to the singer's excitement to perform at the halftime show. "I don't think you can be from Texas and not watch a Cowboys Thanksgiving game," she commented.

As for the show itself, Gomez hinted that fans can expect "something new with a twist of old," hinting that her Stars Dance material could also be mixed with some of her older tracks she recorded with her old band, The Scene. "We had to make it special for my hometown," she said.

The Salvation Army, who will kick off their Red Kettle Campaign following her performance, will support Gomez's performance. Best known for standing on street corners ringing bells with red buckets, the Red Kettle Campaign from the Salvation Army provides food, shelter and toys for less fortunate Americans.

Gomez's Thanksgiving Day performance will follow the end of the American leg of her Stars Dance Tour. Her string of shows in support of her debut album will wrap up on Nov. 26 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
