David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian? Well, Ryan Murphy apparently believes that the former Friends star is perfect casting so you can look for the actor to play a huge role in the first installment of the famed director's new series. American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson is said to be the perfect accompaniment to Murphy's American Horror Story and it will play out like an anthology miniseries with the first season focusing completely on The O.J. Simpson trial.

The series is based on the book "The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson" and it is going to tell the story from behind the scenes, through the eyes of the attorneys and those working inside of the chaotic case that completely gripped the U.S. before ending with the shocking acquittal of the former football great.

Cuba Gooding Jr. has already been cast as Simpson and Sarah Paulson will portray the infamous prosecutor, Marcia Clark. Production is slated to begin early next year in L.A. and insiders are expecting this series to do quite well. Each season will focus on a different crime and when it came to modern American history, there seemed no better starting point than the Simpson case. Schwimmer being cast as Kardashian seems an interesting choice. The late defense attorney not only represented Simpson, but was also one of his best friends for years. That inevitably means that Schwimmer's role in the first season of "ACS" is bound to be a pretty big one.

What are your thoughts on the casting of this new series so far? Can Gooding Jr. and Schwimmer deliver enough together to make this show Murphy's next big hit? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
