Many festivals wait months to release their festival video recap as it takes some time to cut the footage and edit it together. Plus, event companies usually wait until they can use the footage as a promotional tool to announce the following festival or help sell tickets for the next year. Stereosonic just threw that model out the window by releasing their aftermovie two weeks after the festival wrapped up, putting together a 6 minute movie filled with stage shots, interviews with some of the acts who graced the stages around Australia and plenty of clips showing off the massive crowd and production.

The video recap is not as imaginative or effect-driven as Coachella's, but it captures the experience of Australia's premiere big electronic music festival. The interviews with the many international and local DJs including Nervo, MK, Carl Cox, Alesso, Cedric Gervais, Will Sparks, Peking Duk, Markus Schulz provide some levity and drive home the festival promoters, One Love/Totem's message of excellence. Steve Aoki's doppelganger even popped up out of nowhere to make a split second appearance. The aftermovie has a very solid soundtrack, including an unreleased tune, "Just Can't" featuring Jeremih from Italian DJ, Crookers, that will appear on his upcoming album, Sixteen Chapel.

According to one DJ, there was a pancake machine that spit out perfect, amazing pancakes. Stereosonic, please send us one of those.

Stereosonic is Australia's largest touring festival. It is a two-weekend; five date touring electronic music festival that makes stops in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane. It featured artists like Steve Aoki, Skrillex, Ferry Corsten, Zhu, Alesso, Tiësto and many, many more.
