First, Craig Wayne Boyd fulfilled one musical lifelong dream by winning season seven of The Voice last week on NBC. And now, it seems like the "My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face" singer and former Team Blake Shelton member will have another big musical goal accomplished: performing at the Grand Ole Opry.

Boyd will perform at the Grand Ole Opry on Jan. 3, 2015, The Boot reports. His performance will take place at the Ryman Auditorium alongside Lauren Alaina, Larry Gatlin, The Henningsens, EmiSunshine, Marty Stuart and more, according to the Opry's website.

The Grand Ole Opry performance is a big step for Boyd, who is now signed to Dot Records. After beating out Matt McAndrew, Chris Jamison and Damien to win The Voice on Tuesday (Dec. 16), it's been a blur for the Nashville singer.

"I've always had a really strong work ethic, and I'm just taking on each challenge as they come at me. I am hanging on for dear life because it is a whirlwind at the moment. But it's fun," Boyd said about his post-win fame and demand in an interview with The Tennesean.

Boyd also discussed his struggles with the newspaper, claiming that he nearly quit music last year for good because it just wasn't making ends meet and he'd so nearly had success before.

"In 2010, I put out a single to country radio that started climbing the charts and then the company I was about to start working with lost their funding so it dropped me all the way back at the bottom again," he said.

But, it all seems to be working out for him now. Boyd is soon to head back to Nashville to record his album, which he promises will have "light songs with meaning behind them."
