Safaree Samuels and Nicki Minaj appeared to go at each other pretty hard on Twitter recently regarding their very public break up. While they never addressed one another directly, it was clear early on that the dispute had to do with their relationship (or lack thereof). TMZ tracked down Samuels down and asked him about the beef, Vibe notes.

"Definitely not a Twitter war, just a misunderstanding...somebody out there has been putting some poison out, but definitely nothing but love," he says in the video below. "Don't believe none of that."

The TMZ reporter then catches Samuels a little off guard with the follow-up question, "Is there ever going to be a chance of you and Nicki getting back together?"

"I support her in everything she do - her music, her family. That's somebody...12 years is a long time, you know? That's not just something you forget about. That's like a family member. It's not easy, but I gotta do what I gotta do. It's different when everywhere you go, everything you watch, every single radio station has on that person."

Samuels appears sincere during the on-the-street interview. Minaj has yet to respond.
